Welcome to your Korean Hangul Study Companion. This notebook was built for adult learners who are studying Korean on their own terms — through online courses, community classes, or self-directed practice — and who want a single, well-organized place to log their sessions, practice their writing, build their vocabulary, and track their progress over time.
Start each study session with the Study Session Log. Before you open your textbook or app, take thirty seconds to write in the date, your focus topic for today, and how long you plan to practice. When you finish your session, fill in the Key Takeaways and Notes sections while everything is still fresh in your mind. This habit alone will accelerate your retention dramatically — the act of writing down what you learned forces your brain to process it a second time.
The Hangul Manuscript Practice pages are the core of this notebook. Use them every day, even if only for five or ten minutes. Write individual characters, syllable blocks, whole words, or short phrases — whatever you are currently working on. The two-line guide system on each row gives you a reference boundary for character height and proportion. Stay within the lines when you are learning, and challenge yourself to write freely as you grow more confident.
The Vocabulary Note pages use a two-column format. Write the Korean word in the left column and its definition and an example sentence in the right column. Do not just copy words from a list — write a sentence that is meaningful to you. Vocabulary that lives inside a real sentence is vocabulary that stays with you.
For grammar, the Grammar Quick-Reference pages give you a blank table to fill in with patterns, structures, and examples as you encounter them in your lessons. Do not wait until you understand a grammar point completely before recording it.
